BISHOP DANIEL WANDABULA INAUGURATED UNITED METHODIST GUEST HOUSE IN GITEGA CAPITAL CITY

On Friday , 18 March 2022 church leaders of the United Methodist Church , Burundi Annual Conference gathered at stadium quarter to inaugurate the United Methodist Church Guest House in Gitega after three days of the Executive Meeting of Burundi Annual Conference which held in Gitega capital city.

The event was honored by different dignitaries including the resident Bishop Daniel WANDABULA, the legal representative the Rt. Honorable Rev. Dr. Emmanuel SINZOHAGERA and his deputy legal representative Rev. Lazare BANKURUNAZE.

Also present were conference leaders , the conference secretary, conference lay leader, all thirteen district Superintendents and their district lay leaders, all presidents of Methodist organizations, all chairpersons of different boards and head of departments.

The Rt. Honorable Emmanuel SINZOHAGERA welcomed the guests and mentioned that the guest house was one among many projects that a church has accomplished and more completed constructions are going to be inaugurated this year. He expressed his happiness on the presence of the bishop and church leaders and said “this is the fruit of unity existing among church leaders “.

The legal representative warned those who still have the habit of misusing the fund or property of the church like in the past leadership that won’t be tolerated at all. “ In the future we want our church to be self-reliance”, he said.

The inauguration ceremony began with the tape cutting by resident bishops Daniel WANDABULA who heartily thanked and blessed the effort of Burundi Annual Conference legal representative and other church leaders in Burundi who had dedicated themselves for the project.

The bishop wished success of Burundi leaders especially the legal representative vision for initiating and developing different projects. Here the bishop was referring to the constructions of schools, hospitals , sanctuaries in different districts and others that are still under construction which were reported at this executive meeting.

It should be noted that Gitega is a new capital city of Burundi and the city is growing fast. The guest house will help to receive visitors coming from within and without and at the same time whereby churches will use her facilities to harbor the church delegates in the meeting and visitors from abroad.

Note that this event was in the sidelines of the Cabinet meeting held in Gitega from March 16th to March 19th, 2022.
