Building of the Church that can fly with its own wings

The 23rd of October, 2021, The Legal Representative, Rt. Hon. Rev. Dr. Emmanuel SINZOHAGERA, held a meeting with the executives, officers and agents in private sectors, members of the United Methodist Church, Burundi Annual Conference, Bujumbura District.  The theme was: “Let’s build the church that can fly with its own wings”. That meeting was held in Bujumbura District, in Bujumbura Parish.

Refering to the book of Haggai 1:14-15; 2: 1-4, Rev Dr. Emmanuel emphasised on the verse 4 where he asked the participants to visit the past and remember how beautiful was the UMC Burundi in the 1980’s. “We should stand together in our unity and rebuilt our church spiritually and economically”, he urged them.

He also explained that every member has to be implied in the church development. “As your leaders, we need constructive ideas to be focused on in our action plan for this year”, said the Legal Representative.

The meeting was an occasion of deeply discussing on the strategies of evangelism and some reliable projects that might move the church on with the fight against unemployment within the community.

Note that the meeting was the first in the history of the church and was also the occasion of teaching provided by the Conference Lay Leader, Dr. Theodore MBAZUMUTIMA
