This Friday, August 6th, 2021, the Legal Representative of Burundi Annual Conference, Right Honorable Reverend Dr. Emmanuel SINZOHAGERA, paid a visit to the district of Buganda-Cibitoke located to the north of Burundi, where he met different leaders, among them: pastors, lay leaders, presidents of different departments from all local churches of that district. The goal of that meeting was to discuss about the functioning of the district.
According to the Superintendent, Reverend Febronie NGENDAKUMANA, the district of Buganda has 7 parishes and 13 local churches. But it has been weakened many problems related to divisions between leaders and poverty within the church members.
By taking the mic, the Legal Representative said that he is currently preoccupied by the spiritual and economical life of the church. Referring to 1 Timothy 3:1, he raised awareness of leaders, especially of pastors to examine themselves before they become leaders, by the fact that a leader would have to sacrifice himself, to be honest and have a vision for the flock. “In fact, we are called on serving people but not on hurting them. As pastors we have to recognize that we are not working in own field but in Jesus’ field”, said the Reverend Emmanuel. He also gave them many advices relating to the mutual forgiveness, and as a result, they ended up asking each other’s forgiveness.
